Task 2

You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.

Rich countries often give money to poorer countries, but it does not solve poverty. Therefore, developed countries should give other types of help to the poor countries rather than financial aid. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

You should write at least 250 words.

Poverty is a global issue that needs to be solved on urgent basis. It can be a reason to numerous other problems like the country facing financial crisis, rise to number of pandemic outbreaks and what not. Many philantrophist countries help countries struck with poverty. But does it really help improving the condition? Not really! So rather than giving financial aid countries who are capable of providing some different kind of help might really be appreciated and could really help the poor countries to stand on their feet.

First of all, the developed countries should recognize what the poor countries really need. Is it money that they need or something else? Poverty can be caused by various factors. Food crisis, pandemics, wars, etc. So in such situations financial aid is not always an option. If the country is suffering from food crisis, providing food supplies can help them come out of the situation. Conducting campaigns acrross that country and supplying food to the regions where the intensity is more will help a lot. Helping the country to develope a strategy to overcome this issue can be helpful as well.

Another example is that if the country has a pandemic outbreak. The world has witnessed what a real life threatning pandemic is during COVID-19. Many countries and their economies collaped overnight. In such situations the countries were not able to purchase medical supplies and equipments due to financial difficulties. In such conditions rather than providing monetary funding, developed countries can provide medical supplies and equipments for free or subsidised rates. At the end, human life is all that matters in such situation.

So the conclusion is, money is not always the solution to eradicate poverty. What if the financial aid provided never reached its people? Corruption is everywhere and this aid might just fill the pockets of the corrupt government. Lending a hand to such countries is really important but what else is importat is that helping them stand on their own feet.
