The bar chart below describes some changes about the percentage of people were born in Australia and who were born outside Australia living in urban, rural and town between 1995 and 2010.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

You should write at least 150 words.

Writing Task 1

Based on the graphical representation, it can be observed that individuals born in urban areas constituted the most significant proportion, approximately 50%, compared to those born in suburban towns and rural regions in 1995. Moreover, the percentage of individuals born in urban areas remained consistently higher than those born in towns, regardless of whether the analysis was conducted within Australia or other regions. Nevertheless, after 15 years, there was a notable surge in the urban-born population, accounting for approximately 62%. In contrast, the proportion of individuals born in rural regions experienced a decline, dropping to less than 20%. Furthermore, a notable disparity lies in the proportion of individuals accounted for outside of Australia, particularly in rural regions, where there has been a conspicuous decline from 40% to less than 20%. Based on the available data, it can be inferred that individuals possess the greater economic capacity to make informed decisions regarding selecting a more favorable location for childbirth and subsequent generational propagation. However, this also suggests that rural areas are confronted with the challenge of underdevelopment due to a declining population.

Task 2

You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.

Rich countries often give money to poorer countries, but it does not solve poverty. Therefore, developed countries should give other types of help to the poor countries rather than financial aid. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

You should write at least 250 words.

A significant number of countries have been subjected to socioeconomic stratification, which has led to the division of their populations into lower, middle, and upper classes. Countries that are already at a developed level are willing to lend their assistance to nations that are still in the process of developing or are still underdeveloped. When it comes to assisting these less fortunate nations, this approach is widely regarded as being the one that is most effective, useful, and time-efficient. In addition, the government is able to quickly put these funds to use in order to assist residents in escaping life-threatening situations that are the direct result of a lack of financial resources necessary for survival. On the other hand, the primary factor that determines a nation's level of poverty is frequently cited as being things like the inefficiency of its government, instances of corruption, poor management, or a lack of concern for the well-being of its citizens. The financial resources contributed by developed nations may make it possible for administrative personnel to make use of the premises for recreational purposes, such as going to nightclubs or participating in other activities. Hence, I contend that developed nations should provide assistance not only in the form of direct financial aid but also by facilitating the enhancement of the undeveloped countries' capacity and capability to augment their GDP and other socioeconomic indicators, including the well-being of their inhabitants. Education plays a pivotal role in the development of a nation. Developed countries can provide educational aid to less developed nations, thereby enhancing their academic standards and fostering the growth of skilled individuals. This, in turn, can contribute to a reduction in crime rates.
