The chart below compare the number of people per household* in the UK in 1981 and 2001.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
You should write at least 150 words.

The given chat compares the number of people per household in the UK in 1981 and 2001. In 1981, the highest number of houses were the ones with two people in them. This usually would be a couple without children and where both would be working in the city to make a living for themselves. They would not have been in a position to make a decent enough earning to support children. The chart of the year 2001 is similar in this aspect as the number of houses with two people in it is the highest. The number of houses having just one person living in them has increased slightly in 2001. This increase may be due to the number of students increasing who may opt to live alone. In stark contrast, the number of houses having six people living in them has decreased in 2001. This could be due to the fact that people do not have as much children these days and also people don't live with their extended family. The number of houses which have three, four and five people has seen just a slight variation (could be an increase or decrease) when we comapre the two years.

Advertising is becoming more and more common in everyday life. Is it a positive or negative development?
You should write at least 250 words.
Advertising can make or break a company. Even if you have a superior product, a lack of brand exposure to consumers will not make your business profitable. But even if you have a mediocre product, apt advertising can create high demand for your product which would in turn drive its price up which would make your company profitable. therefore, every comapny is trying to come up with the best advertisements to attract customers and the biggest companies are in a constant battle of ridiculing the oppposite number in their advertisements.
Advertising is definitely a positive development as it helps start-up companies to get the word out about their company to the masses which would greatly help their business. Advertisements can be of many types-TV advertisements, website advertisements, billboards, radio advertisements and even advertisements on bus benches. Companies are constantly trying to get people to look at their advertisements everywhere they go or wherever they see. It has somewhat of a psychological factor too where companies hire specialists in human psychology who give their inputs on how to attract the human eye to look at an advertisement. The primary goal of an advertisement is not to make a consumer buy the product but it is to grab the attention of that person. Even if one does not buy the product, they will talk about it if it grabs their attention and this is free marketing for the company.
Another main component of good advertising is getting celebrity endorsements. Companies are always on the hunt for the most relevant and famous celebrities to endorse their products. When people resonate with a particular celebrity, they usually gravitiate towards buying a product endorsed by them becuse they want to use the same products that the celebrity uses. This could be a negative aspect of advertising as companies with a bad product may pay a celebrity a large amount of meny to endorese the product and when the consumers buy the it, they feel cheated. It is somewhat of a scam but it is not being talked about.
The consumer now has become more mindful of what they buy and have many ways of checking the legitimacy of a product so even companies are striving to put out better products for the masses. So, in my opinion, advertising has more of a positive impact than a negative one in out everyday life.
