These bar charts, describing division of population living in urban, rural and town, make some interesting observations.
Charts for both Australia and rest of the world indicate that, beween 1995 and 2010, population from roral and towns shifted towards urban. However, this shift is much steeper in case of rest of the world than for Australia, especially in case of rural to urban migration.
In fact, in 2010, percentage of population living in rural areas in rest of the world is less than that for Australia. This indicates that rate of urban migration is much greater in rest of the world than in Australia.
Also, one more observation is that, for both Australia and rest of the world, drop in perventage of population in rural much greater than that in towns, indicating much of the migration has been towards urban areas than towards towns.
Task 2

Rich countries often give money to poorer countries, but it does not solve poverty. Therefore, developed countries should give other types of help to the poor countries rather than financial aid. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
You should write at least 250 words.
Since dawn of civilization, there has existed a divide between different cultures. Some cultures have witnessed the golden age. They have made valuable contributions to the world and reaped the benefits as well. Others have not been so lucky. They have been plagued by one calamity or the other, be it some political crisis, natural disasters or even subjugation by the so called golden civilizations. This leads to that great divide, between the rich and the poor; between the haves and the have nots.
In such cases, many rich countries or individuals have taken on the task of aiding the poor countries. Many times such aid is in the form of financial aid. And many times, such aid has seen no benefit to the poor.
Money is, of course, important for getting rid of poverty. Much like fish is important for getting rid of hunger.
However, as the saying goes, 'give man a fish, he will eat for a day. But teach man how to fish, he will eat for the life.'. It is not enough to just throw the money at the problem to rid of poverty. It is imperative to help the poorer countries learn how to generate 'wealth'.
It is useless to just have money. Important thing is utilizing it successfully. For that, one needs education. Education creates the workforce. One needs industry. Industry utilizes the workforce and generates wealth.
So education and industry are two things which should be supplied along with the money, if poor countries are to get rid of poverty. But there is one more thing which is even more important than these three. It is peace. What use is industry, if it is getting destroyed? What good is education, if the youth is dying in war? and what use is money, if most of it goes in buying bigger weapons? So, if any coutry is to have a chance at bright future, assure them peace first. I am sure prosperity will follow.
