PART 1

You will hear a conversation between an optometrist and a patient who has come for an eye test.

Optometrist: Good morning, can I help you?

Simon Lee: Yes. I’m here for an appointment at ten o’clock with the optometrist. I’m a little early. I know it’s only ten to ten.

Optometrist: Are you Simon Lee?

Simon Lee: Yes, I am.

Optometrist: I’m Rachel White, the optometrist here today. Come in and take a seat.

Simon Lee: Thanks.

Optometrist: Before we test your eyes, I just need to get a few details from you. So, Simon, what’s your full name?

Simon Lee: Simon Anthony that’s A-N-T-H-O-N-Y. And my family name is Lee: L double E.

Optometrist: And your date of birth, Simon?

Simon Lee: The 1st of June, 1989.

Optometrist: The 21st of June.

Simon Lee: No. The first of June.

Optometrist: Whoops… sorry! 1989 – ah, same year my son was born! What’s your current address?

Simon Lee: I’m living at a hall of residence.

Optometrist: Which one?

Simon Lee: At University Hall, not far from here, in Adams terrace.

Optometrist: University Hall… And do you have any medical insurance?

Simon Lee: Yes, I’m fully covered

Optometrist: And who are you insured with?

Simon Lee: I’m with ‘Health for life’.

Optometrist: Healthy Life.

Simon Lee: No. People always get that wrong. It’s Health for Life. They’re part of some big insurance company.

Optometrist: Good! Now, Simon. Have you ever had your eyes tested before?

Simon Lee: Yes, once. But not recently. It was when I was still at school.

Optometrist: So roughly when would that have been?

Simon Lee: Probably around September 2007. No, on second thoughts, it must’ve been the year before – September 2006. And my eyesight was fine then.

Optometrist: But you’re having a little difficulty now, are you?

Simon Lee: Well, yes … since I started at university, I’ve been having difficulty with distance vision. I can’t always see things in the distance.

Optometrist: Well, let’s have a look. Now I’m just going to cover your left eye. Can you read the top line?

Simon Lee: Yes. R… B… Q… S…

Optometrist: Well, Simon. Your eyes have obviously got a little worse since your last test and I think you’re going to need to wear glasses … er… not all the time and … not so much for reading or close work but definitely for driving.

Simon Lee: Right. Yes. I thought that was probably the case.

Optometrist: So now you need to choose some frames. There’s a wide range to choose from, as you can see.

Simon Lee: Can you give me some idea of the difference in cost? I quite liked the idea of some frameless glasses.

Optometrist: Mm… Did you? Well, the prices vary enormously, like everything, but the frameless ones are the most expensive. The cheapest are the ones with the full frame.

Simon Lee: Mm, perhaps I’d better go for those.

Optometrist: Or why not try these ones with the half frame?

Simon Lee: They’re not too bad.

Optometrist: Yes. They look quite nice and they’re strong far less likely to break than the frameless ones.

Simon Lee: Oh, that’s a good point. OK, I think I’ll take those ones.

Optometrist: If you pop back next Monday, I should have them ready for you. And you can pay for them when you pick them up.

Simon Lee: Thanks very much. Can I pay by credit card?

Optometrist: You can, but there will be a slight charge if you do that.

Simon Lee: Right. I’ll pay by cash then, if you don’t mind.

Optometrist: No problem. Cash, credit card, debit card. All the same to us. See you on Monday.

It has been observed that more people are endeavoring to imitate well-known actors and actresses from the media and other publications such as articles and newspapers. The possible reasons for this are that the masses are huge fans of their favorite stars and get attracted to their lavish lifestyle. However, I believe that it is a negative development as it can only bring the audience temporary happiness and may forget their personality.
Firstly, there are many reasons why people replicate celebrities. One of the primary causes is that the public likes the popular star performances in films and series, appreciates them, gets inspiration, and ultimately becomes their followers. Another reason is that people are captivated by the famous personality's living standard, and they also dream of achieving the same. For example, in India, one man bought the same luxurious car by spending his years of savings just because his favorite star Shahrukh Khan has the same automobile. Sometimes people go beyond limitations to copy celebrities.
Furthermore, duplicating beloved people is very common among the general public; however, it is a negative approach because this can only bring a partial delight to the audience. Moreover, if they want permanent happiness, they have to keep their originality and make a separate recognition in society. For instance, If an individual tries to mimic any celebrity and his lifestyle all the time, he loses his identification. As an example, a young boy who was a follower of Sasha Sobhani on Instagram made an attempt to imitate Sasha's lifestyle. When he was arrested by international police for corruption, his true lifestyle was revealed, and after a few days, the boy committed suicide because of his imitation and acceptance of Sasha as a legend.
In conclusion, I think many people replicate well-known stars because they follow them and are fascinated by their way of life to have a social standing; in respects, it is not a positive development as it brings joy for the time being and they lose their own identity.

Nowadays, in the society, people have tendency to follow professional persons who outstanding sport, film, theatre, music professions. People come to know them from Tv shows, reading journals, articles,, socia media. However their name, fame, popularity, luxiries life style draw others atraction. This essay examines why people follow famous people and attempts to why it is negative aspect.
Firstly there are several reasons for this trend among people to follow celebrities. One main reason is people desire to be famous in the society to live celebrities life. Another reason is people want to grap others attention. For example a person who wears his idol actors t-shirt, he thinks that he would be able to grap attention. On other hand the most of people think if they follow celebrities life, they would be achieve the luxurious lifestyle, wealth.

Actually this passage gives the reality of the world in now days its become a tent the any body follow other famous personality its trend now
Some people like other personal (any famous person ) like the most famous poet of the world 'Dr.ilama Iqbal' a lot of people like to follow they also like the poetry their dreams and wants to make them as like that I'm also the follower of that person I love his poetry people follow and live famous personal even some would lay down their life for that
On the other hand some people follow others only there talent as a person whose singer people like only this songs even they like that person only for his talent
Basically it's not bad to follow a person in my opinion every thing has both positive and negative effect we have to like talents as it

Almost everyone is influenced by celebrities and idolize them. Ordinary people try to copy famous personalities and celebrities by seeing them on TV or in the newspapers. They try to behave or look like them.  There are multiple reasons for this.
Firstly, celebrities set the trend and then normal public follows that trend blindly to look fashion forward. Today everyone wants to be a fashion icon. So, they copy famous personalities to look good. Also, celebrities make everything look beautiful and people get fooled thinking they might also look good and classy like them. Hence, people end up imitating them. Secondly, people love to be compared with big celebrities. Therefore, be it good or bad, people, specially teenagers try to imitate them in terms of looks, behavior, stunts and materialistic possessions.
It is fine to copy celebrities until it is harmless. Everything works good only in moderation and same goes with imitating famous personalities. Following a trend and trying to copy their fashion styles is completely normal. But, style is something unique for everyone. People should keep in mind their comfort, body type, requirements and life style before blindly copying anything. Moreover, celebrities often set unrealistic beauty standards that become harmful for people to follow. There are cases where young girls starve to get the waist size or the jawline of their favorite celebrities. People need to understand that there is a whole team of experts that make these famous personalities look so flawless all the time. Hence, copying them or comparing yourself with them is unfair.

I would like to conclude by adding that famous personalities have a huge influence in todays world, primarily the new generation. Everyone wants to look like them. We should understand that looking beautiful and being fit it is a part of their job and we should not try to imitate them all the time.

Can anyone check this and provide me a feedback?
