Nowadays, for many people, the Internet is replacing regular books. What do you think will happen in the future and what is your opinion about this trend?

Now, compare your response to this IELTS writing task 2 with the following sample answer:

Sample Answer:

In this digital world, a number of people are found using the internet rather than reading books. It is due to the vast development in technology which is even taking more shapes into mobile platforms in the future, diminishing the book reading habits though not completely. Other than computers, devices such as mobiles or tablets are likely to be more prevalent.

To begin with, internet technology has greatly overpowered the physical resources such as books. Students are nowadays found studying online through educational websites and attending classes using software such as Skype. For example, a student likes to search a particular term in Google such as robotics, genetics or others to find all the relevant information in no time. On the other hand, books are merely used for references by today’s youngsters who actually like to spend more time using computers and studying with video tutorials or audio files in an e-learning environment rather than studying books.

Further to this, with the increasing advancement in the field of technology, it is likely that there could be a drastic shift from learning on computer to studying on mobile, and this would reduce the habit of reading books but not completely. The craze of using mobile apps can be well seen as every child is carrying a smart phone to use apps for various learning needs. For instance, if anyone needs to use dictionary, he uses dictionary apps which are available both offline and online.

On the whole, I believe that the internet would continue to be dominating over books but a noticeable thing is that there could be a slight shift in the devices used for accessing the internet to study, from computers to mobile applications.

Ok don't even know who created this practice test, but can you at least go to school before writing or reading something? Never heard of putting an X for not mentioned questions, wtf, plus one of them were actually mentioned, the answer key still gave an X.
