The diagram illustrate the evolution of cutting tools during the Stone Age, comparing two types of tools from 1.4( Tool A)million years ago and 0.8 million years ago (Tool B).
Overall, the tool B demonstrate significant changes in shape and functions comparing to tool A. The advancement can be seen in tool's sharpness which shows the development of craftmanship over Stone Age.
Tool A, aged as 1.4 million years ago seems to more basics and have round shape. From the front side it can observed as triangular shape. Besides, the side view is more thicker and dull that give a clue of it's limited cutting efficiency.
Tool B which is dated 0.8 million years ago, however, looks more functional and sharp having a simple shape. Its front view is flat similar to its back view having sharp angles while the side view is much thinner. This adds to its functionality when using.
When both of the tools in these two ages are different in view shapes, they have the same height of 5cm. This shows that the more polished and changed in shape it become, was all due to the development of tool-making techniques.
