Studies show that criminals get a low level of education. Some people believe that the best way to reduce crime is educating people in prison so they can get a job after leaving prison. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Some research proves that criminals are not educated enough. For that reason, some people reckon that if convicts are teached carefully in prison, they could get a job after leaving prison. From my point of view, I only agree with some parts of this statement and I am going to analyze the reasons behind my opinion in this essay.

To begin with, it is true that there are a great number of illiterate criminals in the society. They are not well-educated so they do not have any qualifications to apply for a position in companies. Therefore, they may become unemployed, which is the causative factor for being poor. Because of poverty, they are not able to pay for their life expenditures and doing crimes such as stealing, drug dealing, those are the best choices for them to earn for their living. In other words, if the authorities give them an opportunity to study. They will totally become good citizens and the figure for crimes will decrease.

By contrast, teaching for people in prison just reduces some types of criminals such as convicts who commit crimes because of poverty. In terms of psychological criminals, they do illegal behaviors for nothing but they want to. It is probably because those crimes can fulfill their odd and inhuman hobbies such as muddering, kidnaping. Furthermore, most of the convicts with mental problems used to be working people, or even some of them are religious professors in their major because only intelligent and well-educated persons are able to make an illegal plan carefully . Therefore, teaching them is not a useful solution because they already have the ability to get a stable job.

To summarize, educating people in prison is not a well-rounded solution because it is not effective for all kinds of criminals.
