IELTS General Training Volume 1 Writing Practice Test 2
Question list
You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.
You have a full-time job and you are also doing a part-time evening course.
You now find that you cannot continue the course.
Write a letter to your teachers. In your letter
describe the situation
explain why you cannot continue at this time
say what action you would like to take
You do NOT need to write any addresses.
Begin your letter as follows:
Dear ................. ,
There are three main things to consider before writing your essay:
1. Tone (formal or informal)
Sometimes students are friendly with their tutors, but I think it would be better to write a formal letter. Start with your tutor’s surname (e.g. Dear Mr. Smith,) and end with “Yours sincerely,”. Avoid contractions (write “I am” instead of “I’m”), and avoid using informal idioms or expressions. Be polite rather than friendly.
2. Purpose
The main purpose of this letter is to inform your tutor that you are leaving the course. Make this clear straight away (e.g. I am writing to inform you that...). Then cover the three points, writing a short paragraph for each.
3. Ideas
I recommend spending a few minutes planning ideas for each of the task points before you start writing. You need to decide what the evening course is about, what your full-time job is, a reason why you are too busy with work to continue with the course, and whether you want to leave completely or perhaps continue at a later date.
You should write at least 150 words.

You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.
Write about the following topic:
Nowadays we are producing more and more rubbish.
Why do you think this is happening?
What can governments do to help reduce the amount of rubbish produced?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

The first thing I want to mentioned is my work at now is very busy because my company prepare launching new product in next month because this is crucial product in this year of the company. Therefore, I need to focus to my work. At the same time I have to do inadditon at night. I hope you can understand to me. The next thing I consider over here. I love learning. Your sincerely,
Nowadays, it cannot be denied that more and more dump and it has become one of the most popular in daily life. In this esay, I will outline several reasons why this thing is happening and the government can do to help decrease the amount of rubbish produced with relevant examples.
First of all, it is true that we use to single use-container in purchase daily life like plastic bags, boxs, and botters, so it create a lot of dump. For example, we are usually use plastic bags when we go to shopping at supper markets or markets. Moreover, we are often throw rabbish on the roads. An illustration of this is that, we are usually buy a green tea botter at the drink store after used it, we are throw it out the roads. Therefore, that reason is the dumping more and more.
To reduce the amount of rabbish prodcted the government can perform protecting environment. Firtsly, government encourage inhabitants shoudl use eco-friendly environment íntead of use single-container purchase daily life. For example, we should limit use plastic bags and boxs when we join purchase at supper markets and markets. In addition, government need to encourage the citizens throw dump right place and plant green trees. To illustrate, we should plant green tree in the park, school, and the roads.
In conclusion, when cónidering the reason more and more rabbish and government should reduce the amount of dump producted there are always both pros and cons. From my point of view, the benefits can outweigh the drawback under certain circumstance.
