Today we are surrounded by screens and signals, tecnology is spreading its arms in every field and changing many aspects of our lives. Information technology is one of the technology changing our lives and dominating most of our activities. Information technology (IT) mostly includes electronic devices or softwares used to create, store, exchange elecrtonic data. Like evey coin had two sides IT also has its advantages and disadvantages.
First of all, authenticity of the data is the biggest disadvantage of IT, since anyone can create and publish papers or information on the internet the authenticity of the data cannot be determined. During the pandemic of 2020 there were a lot of people who published pages on the internet claiming to cure COVID-19, since no-one knew about the disease few of the common people started beliving in the available information. Secondly, plagiarism is one of the disadvantages of information technology. The electronic data published or stored can be easily retrieved by anyone and he/she can claim it to be their original work. A friend of mine who writes and posts poems on his blog had a online brawl with a person who posted my friend's poems on his Instagram and blogs as hi own work. But since my friend had proof that he had first written and published the poems the person had to take the poems down from his bolgs.
There are many advantages of Information technology, some of them are easy storage, access to unlimited information, easy exchange of data and online community. As mentioned above my friend whoes work was stolen was able to prove himself the rightfull owner of the work because of the online community created especially for writers. There are different communties who help and support one another in times of difficulties.
In my opinion there are many disadvantages to information technology but as it has connected people from different places together the benifits outweigh the disadvantages.
