[Kaike V] 雅思写作真题 928608
Task 1
You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.
You have a full-time job and you are also doing a part-time evening course.
You now find that you cannot continue the course.
Write a letter to your teachers. In your letter
describe the situation
explain why you cannot continue at this time
say what action you would like to take
You do NOT need to write any addresses.
Begin your letter as follows:
Dear ................. ,
There are three main things to consider before writing your essay:
1. Tone (formal or informal)
Sometimes students are friendly with their tutors, but I think it would be better to write a formal letter. Start with your tutor’s surname (e.g. Dear Mr. Smith,) and end with “Yours sincerely,”. Avoid contractions (write “I am” instead of “I’m”), and avoid using informal idioms or expressions. Be polite rather than friendly.
2. Purpose
The main purpose of this letter is to inform your tutor that you are leaving the course. Make this clear straight away (e.g. I am writing to inform you that...). Then cover the three points, writing a short paragraph for each.
3. Ideas
I recommend spending a few minutes planning ideas for each of the task points before you start writing. You need to decide what the evening course is about, what your full-time job is, a reason why you are too busy with work to continue with the course, and whether you want to leave completely or perhaps continue at a later date.
You should write at least 150 words.

Dear Mr. Sherman,
I am writing to inform you that due to a professional obligation, I will not be able to continue the course this semester.
Yesterday night, I was notified by my regional coordinator that the service engineer of the great Toronto area suffered a car accident, that broke his right leg. In addition, this engineer is unique in the country, besides me, who knows how to operate a new machine promoted by the firm. This way, my coordinator invited me to replace this professional immediately for four months, once the great Toronto area represents more than fifty percent of our revenue. Summing up, I am taking off from Calgary on the next flight.
I truly recognize all the costs involved and the frustration, but I would like to know if there is a chance to postpone my thesis presentation to the following year. At the same time, I am fully open to going through any other kind of assessment of your preference in order to graduate from this course.
Yours sincerely,
Kaike Vieira
Task 2
You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.
Write about the following topic:
Nowadays we are producing more and more rubbish.
Why do you think this is happening?
What can governments do to help reduce the amount of rubbish produced?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
You should write at least 250 words.

With all the advances in global production and logistics, an immense amount of disposable products are being created and dumped on store shelves daily around the planet. In addition, consumerism drummed up by social medias is impacting human life as never before, resulting in mountains of waste.
Recently we are facing a new global trend of consumerism boosted by well-designed marketing advertisements, especially through social medias. Promoting some household names on different platforms, some brands deliver the idea that "You can look like this model with this new top-notch bla bla bla", that can varies from just fashion clothes to medicines that can change your life with a far-fetched story. This situation is resulting in an immeasurable number of plastic wraps and undesirable one-month-old goods, we cannot deal with anymore.
On the other hand, the governments could through educational advertisements, reeducate mainly the youngsters, turning them aware of the environmental footprint produced by such behaviour like this. Furthermore, the political class should support and praise, not only the individual who is more environmentally friendly in lowering their taxes, but also boost go along with industries which promote new technologies aiming to recycle and extend their product's shelf-life in a healthy manner.
Finally, this situation demands a hand in hand coordination, from the governments promoting new policies, the industry developing new answers to the environmental requests in order to reduce the rubbish catastrophe and society, being aware of how appalling and challenging the future can be to the next generations if we do not take action right now.
