The tendency of news reports in the media to focus more on problems and emergencies rather than on positive developments is harmful to the individuals and the society as a whole.

To what extent do you agree or disagree?

You should write at least 250 words.

Most of the news report nowadays from social media, TV and radio stations focuses more on problems and critical issues belittling a country rather than on positive developments tends to be hazardous to people who listen to them and the society at large . I strongly agree that this has more negative effect than we can imagine. i will start by saying , when bad news becomes the order of everyday news casting, it create fear and tension among individual , also and the country at large.

Fear is built in people when the majority of news being casted by journalist in media houses is focussed on problems and bad occurennces in a country. People are easily swayed and scared of what they hear from the news , especially when its not appealing to them and this subconsciously create fear in them. For example , the news of tsunami causing a majority of mortality in some part of the US has created fear in people living in other state in the US and this has untowards effect on their daily lives.

When tension is created as a result of the news thats being reported , people are startled and also become restless. They are not in the right state of mind and as such , wrong decision about their lives are made. Most people have lost bearing bearing and hope base on the news they hear. For example, during a masacre event in Borno , alot of tension was built and people began to run hecter skelter , vacating their homes and separating from their families .

In conclusion, news reports by jorunalist that focuses more on problems and emergencies happening in a country tends to create fear and tension for individuals and the society as a whole .
