The diagrams below show how houses can be protected in areas which are prone to flooding.

Write a report for a university, lecturer describing the information shown below.

Writing task 1

In this topic, protecting house from flooding lead to several options. There is a significant one about how people can prevent flooding to damge their properties. With a stopband near to the coast-line, on the one hand, it creats internal ponding when internal runoff can not escape its water flow in to the ocean which may cause some internal flooding problems. However, compares to the no stopbank, it is still provide many benifits, stopbank help building keep away from the freeboard and ground level more than the place where there is no stopbank. According to the picture on the left, it is very clear to notice that average of sea level of place with no stopbank is way higher than the place with stopbank.

In conclusion, nevertheless, the stopbank may cause some little problems like internal ponding but the benifits comes from stopbank overruled the disadvantages of it.

Write about the following topic.

Some people think that we should divide students based on their academic ability, while others think we should educate all students together. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

You should write at least 250 words.

In this essay, both views include "we should divide students based on their academic ability "and"we should educate all students togethe" will be disscused.

Traditionally thinking, escapcailly in China, students are classified into different class group based on their performence on academic grades is very normal. In that case which lead to some advantages and disadvantages.

Some people found that students with good grades stay in one class which benifits the instructors. In terms of time and energy saving, instructors are more willing to teach students with better grades. For instance, one class with students have A grades make instructors have more time to instruct students with harder and more complicated subject within the section. Students with bad grade may drag down whole class with slow understanding of the subject which cause teachers to slow down their pace on teaching. In the end, it most likey cause overall performance droping.

However, on the other side. Many people found the solution above may cause other unpredictble problems. Dividing students in diffrent section probally ignoring the abilities beside of academic abilities. Have to admit that there are lots of skills can be usefull in our society other than academic grade. Many evidence has shown that most of works do not only need good score on exams but also need pratical skills in real working enviornment. People argue that other than academic performence, school should put more attention on students personal character development.

In conclusion, in my point of view, after weight the advantages and disadvantages. I believe that students should not be divide because neither teachers nor school can give predictions on a student's future before they get taught in school and start to grow up. The opportunities to have same quality education given to students should be equel before they step into grown world.
