The tendency of news reports in the media to focus more on problems and emergencies rather than on positive developments is harmful to the individuals and the society as a whole.

To what extent do you agree or disagree?

You should write at least 250 words.

Media outlets focusing on negative news such as probems and emergencies rather than positive developments are causing harmful effects to the individual and society as a whole. Though, this is quite a discussion to many I however agreed to that notion.

It is certainly noticeable that medias and news outlets do have alot of negative headlines rather than positive ones. Which people find depressing and some are fear-mongering.It may have good intention ,to keep people up to date and informed on current events but some are just anxiety inducing reports.I believe, news should be honest but most of all honest. Trust worthy information should be on top of new centers list of priorities. Of course, news about a comet coming to earth is life threatening but they should atleast include ways how people can prevent that from happening or at least ways to survive such disaster. These type of headlines does have a lot of harmful effects to the human mind but also to society.

In addition to the points stated, If majority of the population are suffering depression or other mental health problems because of negative news coming from media it will impact the society in so many ways. This will result to mass hysteria and panic thus people can not function well at work resulting to dominos of problem like conspiracy theories, economy collapsing and many others.

To conclude, I believe that media should be responsible on very story they published . They should always show fairness and equality. Media should not take sides and be a a paragon of quality infromation.
