It is widely considered that sports events being held on a global scale will be able to benefit a nation. But some may think it's the opposite. This essay is written to debate both views.
The first profit of hosting a sports event is that it will boost tourism of the hosting country. People around the world watch sports for entertaining purposes and the majority of spectaters love sports so they travel to the country watch them at place in a stadium to not only see the players in person but also experience the and this will bring earnings to the economy of the hosting country. For example, when a person travels to a country, they will surely travel to tourist attractions, will eat the country's tradional foods so this will boost the country's economy vastly. Furthermore, this will also encourage sports teams and players to be more determined in bringing the victory for their country and this will make sports a more and more entertaining recreational activity. For instance, when sports players see their fans encouraging them, they will be more happy and more determined to not disappoint their fans and be famous.
But, this also has a big drawback, as a large proportion of citizens from around the world come to a country, the country's cleaning systems is overloaded as littering is a big problem, as many people come littering is an uncontrollable problem because it is extremely difficult to detect every single person who litter in their country.
In conclusion, hosting sports events internationally is both beneficial and detrimental to a country. But personally, I think that its advantages offsets the cited drawbacks for a country.
