Since ancient times, schools have been considered as the temple of knowledge. Therefore, it is often argued by people that much of learning should be happed in the schools and students should be free from home assignments. However, there are many others who disagree with this view; they think that homework is a crucial part of their child’s overall education. The following essay examines both views more closely and draws a logical conclusion at the end.

To commence with, parents feel that homework is an extra burden on the children's shoulders. In their opinion, children should be taught everything in school and after coming home they can spend time in extra curriculum activity or take rest when they reach home. If students have no homework to complete; as a result, they can focus more on some sports which they could take up as a hobby or even as a career option. For instance, if children should be free from home assignments then they can just play around with other kids and spend time with their families which would contribute to their overall personality development.

On the other hand, some parents think that assignment plays a vital role in the academics of their children and it will serve as a revision of the classwork which helps the child to understand the topic better. It also gives them the additional practice of the lesson taught to them in the school and it will reduce the exam stress as the students have practiced the lessons multiple times.

To conclude, it is said that too much of anything is bad, hence there should be a balance maintained in terms of the home assignment given to a student. The schools should also come up with a timetable, which allows students to focus more on studies in the school so that they can focus on other activities after school.
