Well, when it comes to the things, I do to keep fit and healthy, I would like to share with you something that I am keen on doing in my spare time, which is playing basketball. I usually play basketball in a basketball court near my home, and it is free of charge, and just because of this, this is a very popular place for people who have the same interest as I do. And this is also the place where I met Lin who has become my best friend ever since.

I usually go there on Saturdays or Sundays at peak hours, as around that time, there are more people playing basketball, so it is quite easy to team up. You know, the first time I went there was five years ago, and not many people seemed to know this place, so I usually just played by myself. And on a typical day of Sunday, I met Lin, a young girl who is around my age. She came over and asked if she could join in. Well, this is how our friendship begins.

Well, I have to say that playing basketball has helped me a lot in strengthening my physical health as well as my mental health. I'm telling you; it helps me to burn a lot of calories, I've lost almost 10 kg within 2 months. And I felt that my body has become so flexible that I can easily do over 100 push-ups. Not to mention it also helps me to build up my confidence, generally speaking, I feel that the benefits I get from playing basketball is beyond words.

Well, I'm going to talk about an app I use to help me stay in shape and keep healthy. This app is actually called Tik - Tok which has been hugely popular since it was out. This app offers me a highly personalized service, I mean, it provides me a wide range of videos according my hobbies and interests, You know, I'm an avid fan of working out so this app usually recommends me videos posted by fitness instructors. One day, When I was scrolling on Tic-Tik,It was this fitness instructor who grabbed my attention. In this video, he was teaching his followers to do aerobics, the movements were simple and easy to follow but it actually required a lot of effort and stamina. Anyway, it is acreative way to keep fit at home, I mean, not going to the gym and following this internet influencer, doing aerobics at home, since you know, this pandemic is still going on.

Moving on to the second question which is when I do it, well, I don't do it on a regular basis because once in a while I have to study for my exams, like reviewing economics, physics and things like that. However, as long as I have time, I'll invite my father to do this aerobics with me. The thing is my father is a little bit overweight so he needs to get some exercises , another thing is that this aerobics is very effective, I mean , doing it for just 10 minutes can make my father out of breath and sweat buckets

There are several reasons why I think this method is very important. First things first, it is very energy - consuming and it helps me stay in shape, consequently, it actually lowers the risks of getting heart disease and boosts my immune system which protects me from this annoying virus. Second, following a fitness trainer on TikTok is very easy and all the movements are absolutely friendly to beginners, like lifting up my legs, stretching my left arm over to the right, wiggling my shoulder and stuff like. Last, it is completely free of charge, you know, I am a student so I can't afford those expensive fitness lessons.

For example, these two age groups tend to eat a variety of food, by which can take in nutrients their body needs, and supplement calcium to build strong bones. The difference, however, lies in that children prefer doing more vigorous physical activities like running, baseball, soccer and so on. By contrast, the old have a tendency to do something moderate such as playing tai chi, do gardening and walking a dog.

Well, we Chinese are thought to be one of the most health-conscious peoples. The following things are what most people do on the path to good health. First and foremost, exercise is the key. People would do cardiovascular exercise helping to strengthen heart and lung and do strength training to build up muscles. Besides that, eating balanced meals is what the older generation has passed onto the younger one. Also, most people would stick to an eight- hour sleep time as it has been scientifically proved that enough sleep allows body to heal, repair and rejuvenate itself in a way it cannot when people are awake.

Question: How can parents help and guide their kids to keep healthy?

Well, I think there are plenty of things parents can do. First and foremost, parents can help their kids to build up the right concept of exercising, that means helping their kids to have the habit of doing exercise ever since they were born. Secondly, parents can act as a role model, keep doing exercise every day, then gradually influence their kids to join in, and then tell their kids about the benefit of work out. Last but not least, I believe that having a loving and pleasant family environment is the basis of parenting after all, and parents should keep this in mind at all times.
