雅思口语范文:

I remember an occasion when I received incorrect information. About 2 years ago, I received a phone call from my close friend, who told me that the city library where we used to go had been closed down. She told me that she had heard it from someone and was pretty sure it was true.

Based on her information, I completely believed her and didn't bother to check the validity of her claim. As I was planning to visit the library that day, I realized that it was unusual to have no announcement on the library website or any local news coverage about it. I decided to call the library to check if it had indeed been closed down.

To my great surprise, the library was still operating as usual. The receptionist told me that there was no plan to close the library anytime soon. I was a little embarrassed to know that I had believed a piece of false information without verifying it. I felt foolish for not checking for other sources to verify the information before believing and repeating it.

Looking back now, I realize the importance of being more cautious when receiving information. It is essential to verify the accuracy before acting on it, especially when there are many fake news and rumors circulating through social media and word-of-mouth channels.
