Currently, families are being shaped in a different way in comparison to the past. Many caracteristics have changed and presented a new range of families. I believe, these issues concerning family's types are positive because it gave the chance of a more balanced lifestyle.
Firstly, the most important thing to concern nowadays, is that family is not characterized by a man and woman, but also for other couple's genders. In other words, a family can be represented by a man-woman, by a woman-woman,or by a man-man couple. Secondly, in the current days, more women are becoming responsable for their houses, being able to afford the necessaries things for the house, such as buying food for the family, paying the bills and even supporting the children, when they are leaving for university. In the past this role was assumed by the man. Moreover, the domestic duties are not only responsability of the women, but also of the men.
In addition, these changes that have been happening, give a great range of opporunities to the female gender. Until some years ago women were thought to be the ones who were responsable to give birth, provide food, do all the cleaning and maintain a pleasant envirolment in their home. Consequently, they were always laballed as the weak gender. However, nowadays they have more value, and have the chance to study, to work at companies and assume the main role in a family.
To sum up, changes concerning to families and their respective roles have brought a better and balanced environment. Moreover, it gave the opportunity to women assume a new role not only in their families, but also in the society.
