Writing Task 1

Dear Sir

I am writing this letter to express my interest to apply for the opportunity that is provided by the Head Office in New York, USA. There is an opportunity for the Web Developer to work in our Head office with the best Developers for six months and in the process enhance our skills.

I believe that this opportunity would greatly benefit me and our sub-branch office here in Dhaka. Personally, this would expose me to greater technical knowledge which would develop my skillset in Web Development. Furthermore, the knowledge that I would gain from working in company's head office would allow me to know more about the company's culture and philosophy. Later on, when I come back, I could share this knowledge here with my colleague which would also help our branch to synchronize more with the work ethics of the head office.

As most of my work is cloud-based, I could work remotely and maintain most of my work from New York. In addition, I have already shown and explained most of my work to Richards and he said he would be able to deliver if any urgent in-person solution is necessary.

So I would request you to please put forward my name for this opportunity and recommend me for this position at the head office. Your recommendation would be off great value to NY office and I believe would help me to land the opportunity

Some businesses find that their new employees lack basic interpersonal skills such as cooperative skills. What are the causes? Suggest possible solutions.

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience

You should write at least 250 words.

Most of the employers in the multi-national companies are looking for employees that are both technically sound and at the same time have interpersonal skills such as cooperative skills. Interpersonal skills are a must need for any company as this greatly affects the reliability and efficiency of a task. Cooperations are needed in most of the job while working in a multi-national company. But it is increasingly difficult to find that perfect candidate. However, I believe there are several root reasons why this is happening. Schools are more focused on academic success and their grades. Furthermore, students are not exposed to real-life experience before they land a real job.

In the majority of the school around the world, they are only focused on the grading systems and how to make a student bookishly knowledgeable. They are not making them ready for practical implementations. There is less exposure to practical work, science projects or even the school does not carry sufficient equipment in their labs. School administrative and curriculum program developers can play a huge role in developing the technical skills in their curriculum as mandatory tasks. More factories and industries can be visited by schools to give them an overview of how actually thing work.

Companies should provide more internship opportunities for students in their company. More summer programs should be made available by the company, were currently enrolled college students can work and gain experience in the company. This would allow the students to learn about the culture, work ethics, dynamics, and another working environment of a real working platform.

I believe that having employees with interpersonal skills is very crucial for a company and there could be several improvements that can be taken by both schools, universities, and even the companies itself to solve the problem that the companies are currently facing of having lesser ideal employees in the job market.
