You work for an international company, and would like to spend six months working in its head office in another country.

Write a letter to your manager. In your letter:

  • explain why you want to work in the company’s head office for six months
  • say how your work could be done while you are away
  • ask for his/her help in arranging it,

Writing Task 1

Dear Sir,

I hope this letter finds you well.

I am writing to enquire about relocating me to the headquarters in Dubai for the next 6 months. As per tomorrow My wife will be relocated to Dubai therefore, I would prefer to go with her since i will not be able to take care of my children on my own.

please allow me to provide you with further details, i have spoken to the Human Resources department and they will be able to cover up for me when i'm away. I would also be glad to cover up any gap i will be causing in the workplace. I also talked to some of my colleagues and they agreed to cover some of daily tasks.

I would really appreciate your help in arranging my paperwork in order to be able to leave as soon as the circumstances allow me to.

Some businesses find that their new employees lack basic interpersonal skills such as cooperative skills. What are the causes? Suggest possible solutions.

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience

You should write at least 250 words.

Some Companies believe that most newly employed individuals tend to lack basic skills such as cooperative skills. Some of the causes are that they lack working experience and other causes could be because they tend to be less confident on their first year of work. Such problems could be tackled by providing further training for new employees such as sending them to seminars, the problem could also be solved by introducing them to their colleagues prior to starting their job.

most newly employed individuals tend to lack some interpersonal skills such as cooperative skills, this is because most of them are fresh graduate with no working experience. Other causes could be that new employees could feel nervous about starting the new job and about meeting their co-workers.For example, when i was first started my job with L'oreal, I had problems with some of my co-workers and this was mainly because of the lack of communication between each others. It is important to identify such issues in the early stage of employment in order to avoid any conflicts in the workplace.

Such problems could be tackled in many ways such as providing training seminars about Cooperative skills, this would help them in boosting their knowledge about this certain issue they are facing. Companies could also avoid such issue by introducing the new employees to their colleagues and by giving them tips on how to cooperate with each other. Based on personal experience when i first started working, my company sent me to a seminar about interpersonal skills, this seminar helped in various way and i still use those skills up until today. Therefore, such solutions tend to be crucial for some beginners and especially if they lack such skills.

Many newly employed individuals tend to suffer from a lack of basic communicating skills. Employees could sometimes lack any work experience therefore would lead to some issue in cooperative skills, this could also because of some nervous feelings that the person is feeling. Sending new employees to some seminar regarding the problem they are facing will help them in tackling their issue, sometimes the problem could be solved by introducing them to their co-workers and by giving them tips about how to cooperate with each others.
