The chart below shows the results of a survey of people who visited four types of tourist attraction in Britain in 1999.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

You should write at least 150 words.

Writing task 1

The pie chart displays the distribution of tourists among four types of places in Britain in the year 1999 with a detailed report on the distribution of people visiting theme parks.

Overall, theme parks has the highest portion of visitors in Britain followed by museums and galleries. Moreover, they have nearly comparable portion of people visiting with combined value of three quarters, while the other two types account for a quarter portion.

Apart from theme parks, the other three types, namely widlife parks & zoos, historic houses & monuments , and museums & gallerie account have a propotion of 9%, 16%, and 37% with the lowest being widlife parks & zoos.

The most visited place is the theme park with 38% visitors. In theme park, nearly half percentage of people who visit the theme park prefer to go to blackpool pleasure beach. And only a tenth of the people visit chessigton world of adventures and legoland, windsor.

Write about the following topic.

Information technology is changing many aspects of our lives and now dominates our home, leisure and work activities.

To what extent do the benefits of information technology outweigh the disadvantages?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Writing task 2

In the modern world of information technology, the internet and mobile phones have a predominent role in people's life. Technology is changing how people see the world, such as smart homes, online tutions, and self driving cars. Despite this, there may be some negatives aspects of the information technology. Such as, is the information available in the internet reliable?

Technology today, has great impact on people's day to day activity. The access to information was limited few decades back, but now with the help of the internet, information is available at a click of a button. Recently, many artificial intelligent softwares are availble to use for public to ease their work. For example, chatGPT helps students from writing an essay to learning about quantum computing in few clicks. Meanwhile, homes are becoming smart with the use of IoT ( internet of things) devices, for instance, people can switch on their air conditioner while sitting in their workplace.

However, the technology is not always reliable and it is prone to errors. Some people might alter the information or rather spread fake information in the internet which might lead to chaos and confusion among people. Moreover, children are addicted to using mobile phones which often affects their quality time with the family.

In conclusion, the information techology has a great impact on people's day to day life. It has made life easier by automating mundane tasks and with access to unlimited information within few clicks. Despite this, there are instances in which the information available on the internet is not reliable. But the advantages of using the technology outweighs the disadvantage by a great margin.
