The charts demonstrates the social structure of population in France and India according to its age in 1984.
Overall, indian nation is much younger, than french ones, as the number of children in this counry is almost twicy higher. But there were much more people at the age more than 70 years in the France than in the India. It means, that average person in europian country had more chanses to reach 85+ years old.
Regarding France age structure, the number of adult persons (30+) is much higher than number of children. Therefore, France was an "old" country due to the lack of young people in 1984. Also this chart describes, tha females ae more likely to live for up than 85 years.
Looking specifically at India, its chart had a form of pyramid, that means that the number of yngsters (people below the age of 25) is extremely high. But after that point, every 5 year older generation became much lower number of persons. It seems that in India peple had relatively low average life expectancy.
