Writing task 1

The funnel charts illustrate the comparison of both male and female demographics based on the age structure between the 2 nations in 1984.

Overall, it is clear that France had relatively even distribution of different age groups among its population, whereas in India majority of the population was in the 0-30 years age group.

In 1984, around one fifth of the French people were in the 0-30 age group followed by the 30-60 category which made up less than 20% of the total population. The 60 and above was the smallest age category with 12%. In addition, starting from the 30s the age category proportions of men vs women had changed to 1:1.5.

However, India represented completely different picture. The 0-30 age category accounted almost for 30% of the total population making it the largest age category. Moreover, around 15% of the Indians were in the 30-60 age category, followed by the people who were in their 60s and above. In contrast to France, the proportions of male vs female was relatively equal in India across all the age categories.

You should write at least 250 words.

Writing task 2

IIn recent years, number of parents who send their children to take after school courses have increased significantly. In my opinion, this is an important action by the parents which could ensure brighter future for their children.

Nowadays, it has become basically a norm to arrange extra curricular activities for the children after school and during the weekends. Many parents believe that this will be greatly beneficial for their children. This method would be quite useful if the child is not doing well at school. By attending such additional courses, the child would be able to improve his/her performance and learn new skills. Besides, only by taking such extra efforts, the children will be able to become good professionals and experts who can compete with the rest of the world in the future.

However, there are also parents who do not support this method. They feel that school curriculum provides sufficient education to the children. But this could be true only in case of private schools which have world class education system. Unfortunately, this not the case for most of the public schools which usually have overcrowded students, shortage of qualified teachers and lack of necessary equipment and facilities. Thus, children who study in such public schools should attend extra classes after school hours to improve their knowledge.

In conclusion, while there are arguments against arranging after school extra courses for the children, by taking such courses the children actually can improve their performance and better prepare themselves to become a good professionals in the future. I strongly feel that this is an important method that all parents should use.
